La monnaie Militaire était éditée strictement pour être utilisée par les troupes Militaires. Elle était fabriquée par un pouvoir militaire ou un Gouvernement. C'est le commandant en chef qui décide de lui donner cours pour l'utilisation par le personnel civil et militaire dans les zones occupées par ses forces. ' La monnaie Militaire ' devait avoir un design distinctif afin de pouvoir la distinguer de la monnaie nationale. Dans le cadre de la préparation globale pour l'invasion de l'Europe occidentale occupée par les Allemands, les Alliés avaient planifiés d'imprimer et d'éditer une monnaie spéciale, dénommée monnaie française, ou monnaie d'Invasion.Cette monnaie avait pour but de dévaluer la monnaie de la banque de France en place et devait servir de moyen de paiement pour les troupes Alliées et les citoyens Français. Elle avait déjà été utilisée en Italie en 1943.La Monnaie Militaire Alliée ' (c'est-à-dire AMC) a été imprimée aux États-Unis dans des conditions strictes de sécurité par la Société de Fabrication de Forbes Lithograph, Boston, Massachusetts et transportée en Grande-Bretagne pour le Jour J, dans 19 camions. Ce qui représentait 3 milliards de francs. Elle a été distribuée avant le Jour J aux militaires Alliés qui devaient débarquer le 6 juin 1944.

The Military currency was published strictly for use by the Military troops. It was manufactured by a military power or a government. It is the Commander-in-Chief who decides to give it courses for use by civilian and military personnel in the areas occupied by his forces.
